My daughter, her husband and newborn baby. My daughter, Jessica, was determined to have her baby before her husband, Matt, would ship out on the cruiser Ronald Reagan. She made it! January 1, 2005 Georgia Porter was born! Her husband, Matt shipped out the next day to the Gulf. It was wonderful and very sad at the same time.

I believe in a brighter tomorrow. Invest in yoru children, they are your future. I grew up poor in a disfunctional family. I was the first one to go to college and obtain my nursing liscense. My oldest son followed in my footsteps and graduated as a Registered Nurse. He faced many challanges, But he made it. I think he studied me and my struggles to obtain a better life and he made the choice to go that route.

The left side was taken in Aug 2010 at the start of my very first triathlon; I weighed over 200 pounds. The right side is me 60 pounds lighter, healthier inside and out. I overcame suicidal depression and self-injury through prayer and as a result of taking care of the inner me, the outer me followed suit.
I can't even begin to describe the joy and peace I feel in my life after finding the courage to address my past.
At 46 years old, I am an athlete that has a total knee replacement and that has overcome a painful past to become the healthiest I have ever been, inside and out. I now work with others to do the same.

The path was long and hard. The days were long and the nights were short. But I didn't let that stop me from becoming an airman in the United States Air Force.
