This is a 30x 40 inch original oil on canvas. I was asked to paint an image to be used on tee shirts, stationary, etc. for an American Cancer Society Relay for Life in the small town where I live: Havana Florida. It helped raise 64,000 from this little town for the cause. I still own the painting and it is shown in a frame shop in Tallahassee, Florida. It won Best of Show at Creative Tallahasse, City Hall, Tallahassee.FL.2006 I can send a higher resolution image if you need it Thank you June

Heart

Love is a fruit always in season and within reach of every hand...

Randomacts

My friend Melissa made up a whole bunch of sack lunches and took them to Downtown Denver. Her and her kids spent the afternoon giving a little love and lunch to people who needed it. The bags had messages of hope and love written on them. It's such an amazing thing to teach your children compassion and love for others!

One of the letters my 10 year old daughter wrote for me. I was touched upon finding it among my papers to work on. I have been sick for a couple of days, but needed to cope with my reports. Upon reading it, I was happy to realize that my eldest daughter is thoughtful and has always been there for me.

Eris_kitten

My Nanny-cat Eris holding and comforting her baby brother-kitten. She often would lie down with the kittens as soon as her mother got up to eat, etc, and befriended another small kitten (Odin) that we recently took in who is blind.

Reanna rodriguez

This is a saying about kindness that everybody has a piece of kindness.

Hands

The world is in our hands and we must care for each other and our environment. Several Adrian College students and staff were asked to hold the "world" in their hands for this photograph.

Note the tears on this horse. Is one of the horses working as a vehicle in Colombia. His sadness and tears should make us think on animal suffering.

Vigil

This is a painting I did last year which I call "Vigil." It was inspired by the many times young people gathered to comfort each other and remember a lost one.

Jessica_matt_and_1020103

My daughter, her husband and newborn baby. My daughter, Jessica, was determined to have her baby before her husband, Matt, would ship out on the cruiser Ronald Reagan. She made it! January 1, 2005 Georgia Porter was born! Her husband, Matt shipped out the next day to the Gulf. It was wonderful and very sad at the same time.

Beach_pics

I am assisting a friend with a brain injury, out of his wheel chair and into the ocean.

Ella_bike

This is a photo of my little girl, Ella as she goes through the motions of learning how to ride a bike . Faced with her fears, she rests in the thought that Dad is there to help her. And with that thought she gets her strength and her confidence. Here's to her dad and all the dads who take the time to be one!

Lewis, gift giving

My picture is a picture close to my family standing by their house. Above the house is a message I wrote.

Mini_urns

For my mother's memorial my husband turned these mini urns for family members. The main wood is a plank of the maple table where family court in my parent's dining room was held. For forty years, the Early American table was witness to every important family gathering. On its thick surface is where we set our elbows and said our prayers; where my dad carved the turkey on Thanksgiving. Sitting at it is where Gerry asked my dad's permission to become my husband. When mom could no longer live alone, the table moved with her to assisted living. It was a companion trusted with our secrets. I cannot think of a more loving tribute a man could make for his mother in law's grieving family.

My little cousin, Greylynn, and I. She is 3 years old and has a speech problem.

Quotes
Too often we under estimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around.
Leo Buscaglia  Author, Professor  (1924-1998);
Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It's not.
Theodor Seuss Geisel Writer, Cartoonist, Animator  (1904-1991);
No act of kindness is too small. The gift of kindness may start as a small ripple that over time can turn into a tidal wave affecting the lives of many.
Kevin Heath Ceo More4kids  -
As we struggle with shopping lists and invitations, compounded by December's bad weather, it is good to be reminded that there are people in our lives who are worth this aggravation, and people to whom we are worth the same.
Donald Westlake American Writer  (1933-2008);
Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around.

The one you care about might not even care about you... but do you know what you have to do? You have to move on and show them that you don't even care,and trust me he will come back to you.
