Vigil

This is a painting I did last year which I call "Vigil." It was inspired by the many times young people gathered to comfort each other and remember a lost one.

Hands_together_oil_on_canvas_june_pauline_zent

This is a 30x 40 inch original oil on canvas. I was asked to paint an image to be used on tee shirts, stationary, etc. for an American Cancer Society Relay for Life in the small town where I live: Havana Florida. It helped raise 64,000 from this little town for the cause. I still own the painting and it is shown in a frame shop in Tallahassee, Florida. It won Best of Show at Creative Tallahasse, City Hall, Tallahassee.FL.2006 I can send a higher resolution image if you need it Thank you June

Harrison

I live in Harrison, Arkansas; a small town loaded with people who have big hearts.

Dogs 045

Dakota was on death row at the pound. I bailed her out to train for search and rescue. She went from unwanted to saved. Untrained to saving others.

Ella_bike

This is a photo of my little girl, Ella as she goes through the motions of learning how to ride a bike . Faced with her fears, she rests in the thought that Dad is there to help her. And with that thought she gets her strength and her confidence. Here's to her dad and all the dads who take the time to be one!

HELPING OTHERS

Quotes
Life's most urgent question is: What are you doing for others?
Martin Luther King, Jr. Minister, Civil Rights Activist  (1929-1968);
Helping, fixing and serving represent three different ways of seeing life. When you help, you see life as weak. When you fix, you see life as broken. When you serve, you see life as whole. Fixing and helping may be the work of the ego, and service the work of the soul.
Rachel Naomi Remen   -
Great opportunities to help others seldom come, but small ones surround us every day.
Sally Koch   -
Every day you have the opportunity to learn and experience some-thing and some-one new. Seize the opportunity. Learn and experience everything you can, and use it to change the world.
Rodney Williams   (born 1959);
If you will think about what you ought to do for other people, your character will take care of itself. Character is a by-product, and any man who devotes himself to its cultivation in his own case will become a selfish prig.
Woodrow Wilson 28th U.S. President  (1856-1924);

Help others. What I did before is raise 175 dollars for a man because he didn't have a heater or a bicycle. I did this because I love other people instead of myself. 8 years old=)

What a beautiful picture. Helping and encouraging children in need. I experienced my own child being in a children's home for near 2 years it was a very difficult time.. Especially at Christmas time may God bless those with compassionate hearts as these that work with our children!!

Helping others in need is really a kind thing in our daily life. We can lend a helping hand for once, but it's really hard to be willing to help others in one's entire life. I just hope that we can do this kind of thing whenever they are needed.

Every person on this earth should love, respect, communicate, assist in every way they can, their parents, because they are why you are here and when they are gone, they will never be seen again. I know I miss mine and think about them daily, bye mom/dad.

We all have something we can do everyday to help someone in need even if it's just a smile and kind words.
