This is a photo of my little girl, Ella as she goes through the motions of learning how to ride a bike . Faced with her fears, she rests in the thought that Dad is there to help her. This picture was taken in while visiting Kosovo. It is of some children play in the dirt street of the city of Peja. They seemed oblivious to their worn surroundings, as well as the torrid past that Kosovo held during the war several years back. This image made me think of perseverance, as well as hope for a brighter and more peaceful future for them.

Hope is being able to keep your head up and believe that it will all turn out okay. Hope is when you can let go and let life take you where it takes you and know you'll be fine. Just like a snow angel, you don't exactly know how it will turn out but then when you see what you've created, its beautiful in your eyes.

My 3 year old daughter with down syndrome Jacqui West cheering for her achievement of walking down to get her certificate at her Early Head Start Graduation. Jacqui didnt walk until 33 months and we are all so proud of her ambition to be like the other kids in her playgroup.Mommy filled with love and tears. One of my best days ever!
