A memorial to the troops lost in Iraq and Afghanistan. One cross for each life lost on one hillside really puts everyone we've lost in the war into perspective. You can stand among them and feel the overwhelming number.

My daughter, her husband and newborn baby. My daughter, Jessica, was determined to have her baby before her husband, Matt, would ship out on the cruiser Ronald Reagan. She made it! January 1, 2005 Georgia Porter was born! Her husband, Matt shipped out the next day to the Gulf. It was wonderful and very sad at the same time.

SGT Elijah John-Miles Rao. Killed in Action while serving in Afghanistan in Operation Enduring Freedom, December 5, 2009. This photo was taken on December 6, 2008 when he came home on leave to walk me down the aisle on my wedding day. He was deployed to Afghanistan in June, 2009.
