For my mother's memorial my husband turned these mini urns for family members. The main wood is a plank of the maple table where family court in my parent's dining room was held. For forty years, the Early American table was witness to every important family gathering. On its thick surface is where we set our elbows and said our prayers; where my dad carved the turkey on Thanksgiving. Sitting at it is where Gerry asked my dad's permission to become my husband. When mom could no longer live alone, the table moved with her to assisted living. It was a companion trusted with our secrets. I cannot think of a more loving tribute a man could make for his mother in law's grieving family.

That was a very endearing thing for your husband to do for the family. I am always happy to see a close knitted family where the memoreries of their time spent together really mean so much to them. I think this was very well thought out and will mean much to the family through out time. God Bless.
