Your Everyday Hero: Linda R.

Linda has always been an inspiration to me but in the past three years she has also become my hero. Her husband, Brad, was diagnosed with ALS a little over 3 years ago. Linda is a very faith-filled person and has used this faith to help her with the challenges of the disease as well as continuing to raise four children. She wants their children to experience everything they should and tries her best to make sure that happens.

Linda is Brad's main caregiver, often times not sleeping because he can't sleep or needs suction or just needs companionship. Linda feeds him, bathes him, clothes him and loves him. She tries to include Brad in activities outside the home as well. This sometimes means an hour or more of preparation before leaving the house. Linda does have support from friends and family and she never forgets to show her appreciation for all they do. She has also supported me and my family as we deal with my Dad's disease, Cordal-Basal Dementia. She has Dad over at the house to visit with Brad whenever she has a chance. She continues to amaze me with her courage, strength, faith and deep love.
