Your Everyday Hero: Vardie H.

Vardie was in WWII. He was not an Aldey Murrey type. His job had no fanfare, he worked in supply. His story starts at the end of his career in the army when dive bombers hit his group in north Africa. Six weeks later he woke up on a red cross ship and they told him he was the only survivor. It was a tremendously difficult thing to live with.
