Your Everyday Hero: Mercedes C.

My mother, Mercedes Coronado, who most know as "Meche" is my hero, not because she has special powers but because she is the most amazing person I have ever met. I honestly believe that she has the biggest heart in the world, my mother is not much of a emotional talker but she says so much with her actions. This woman has put me first in her life since the day I was born. I’m now 28 years old and have two kids of my own and I’m still number one in her world. My mother, like unfortunately many mothers now days, was in a very abusive marriage. Without getting into details, she suffered a lot and made the right choice to leave and make it on her own. She never let me go even though her journey would have been so much easier without me, she chose to put me on her back and roll on through life with me. Every single day of that journey I watched my mother and learned a very valuable lesson in forgiveness and loyalty. She never talked bad about or wished bad upon any of the people who hurt her most. My mother to me is the most unappreciated person in this world and I just want to say to her, "thank you for being who your are and thank you for being so special". I love you mom and you will always be my hero.
