Share A Hero Story NowThere are many people who know the right things to do in life, but not many people who actually act on them. My brother, Steve, is an exception. He lives his life by assisting others and has recently helped a friend obtain a much-needed prosthetic leg. At the beginning of 2005, Steve's friend was stricken by two devastating diseases resulting in the amputation of her left leg. This friend was advised to accept a basic prosthetic leg and to live a life on disability but this thought was almost more dreadful than any disease. Steve knew that her chance to return to work and to live a full life was possible only with the attainment of an advanced prosthetic called a C-Leg, the cost of which was prohibitive and not covered under insurance. Steve made a promise to his friend as she lay in her hospital bed that he would make sure that she got the leg she needed. And he has made good on that promise. With fervor, perseverance, and a huge heart, Steve held several fundraisers over the past year and his friend is now learning to walk with her C-Leg facing a much brighter future than the one she saw just a little over a year ago. His friend has challenged Steve to a race one day as soon as she's able. And he can hardly wait.

I love all of you very much. Sometimes I don’t know how to say the right words to express my true feelings…Thanks again.
