It sounds like there is much more to the story of Doug W. which you should share. The BSA is a fine organization for passing on great values. Some of the scout leaders have been superstarts in its mission. It sound like Doug W. is one of them.

Your Everyday Hero: Doug W.

Doug W. died many years ago, he however left a legacy that has affected the lives of many young men and women, for nearly 40 years. Doug faced many adversities illnesses, and injuries in his life. Yet in the 1970's he started a local scouting program for boys through the BSA, they put up a scout hut, now known as Whitney Lodge, and started a program that now Doug could dream of he has literally inspired and touched the lives of hundreds of young men, and women in the Venturing BSA, programs that now continue in his honor. He made a difference in so many live including my own. His memory will continue in the amazing children he has helped to raise even after death.
