The Dance - Who's Leading?

I’m everywhere but can’t be seen. I can bring you comfort or knock you off your feet. I have the ability to create power or knock it totally out. What am I?... The Wind! On two different occasions recently, I’ve been at the same intersection downtown and watched the wind whipping off the side of one of the buildings. Well I was not really watching the wind but was seeing it action through what I like to call the “Dance of the Trash.” On both occasions, there were leaves in plastic bags swirling around in the air in a tornadic motion. Since I witnessed the event twice, I knew it was time to write about it. We, our spirit and energy, are much like the wind. For the most part, they are invisible yet both can be seen through our actions. We can comfort or knock someone off their feet. We can create power by projecting positive energy to others, or we can be energy vampires and suck the life out of someone else. We’ve all done both at some point. I use the term “fun sponge.” A fun sponge is someone that walks into the room and just zaps any goodness that’s going on. You know them as the gossips, the whiners, or sometimes the chronic pessimists. No matter what the subject or event is, they have the ability to wreck it. The scientific community that studies our energy, as it were, refers to it as the Field Environment. Our thoughts, beliefs, attitudes, and emotions radiate a magnetic field that influences everything around us and yes, it can be measured. In the previous paragraph in the second sentence, I intentionally used the phrase: “For the most part.” I believe as we become more in tune, evolved, and enlightened we develop the ability to see one’s spirit and energy a little better. Some refer to it as spiritual vision. It is the ability to look past the physical presence in front of you to see the real being. It’s being able to actively see what is happening in our Field Environment. Remember the saying: “we’re all products of our environment?” It is indeed the case that what we are surrounded by does influence and mold us. Surround yourself with loving people and good energy and that’s who you become and project. The same thing happens in the world of negativity and less than good energy. Take a little time to reflect on your Field Environment. Does it have less than supportive people in it? Do you feel down more than you feel up? Do you wake up with a smile and thankful for your eyes opening, or do you dread getting out of bed. Be like the wind and blow the junk out of your Field Environment. Life is too short and wonderful to be stuck doing the Dance of the Trash.
