Do you have a good values-based story to tell? It doesn’t have to be perfect to make a difference in someone else’s life.

Kattina

At age 16, I sponsored a very poor Guatemalan child, named Kattina. I went to visit every couple years. On my first visit I met her 3-year old brother who was starving. I learned her language.
I was only 19 when the mission closed, and left the family destitute. I had very little money. I set up a bank account and sent enough every month for the whole family.
I continued to send that money for another 25 years.
Kattina and her brother grew up to go to university and become engineers. Now Kattina teaches at the University of San Carlos and her brother designs infrastructure for the government.
The little dirt-floor house with the leaky tin roof is now a nice stone house.
After 2 decades the U.S. Embassy finally granted Kattina a Visa and she came here for Christmas.
