Share A Story NowI was working with an organization that cared for children in need. I was supervising and training a group of women that were employed to look after the children and provide them the things that they need so that they can be integrated back to the society after their stay with the organization. It turned out however, that most of the women probably did not understand the job or chose to be doing it in their own way such that these children were tending towards social misfit. I put an intensive supervision structure in place and this did not go down well with these women who were so used to having it their way. They complained to my supervisor who came for a support session with me. I made her understand that lives have been committed to our hands and I will not relent until we produce children that are socially, academically and morally acceptable to the society. When we started achieving the result, my supervisor developed so much confidence in me that she would always ask for my suggestions on issues that pertain to the children and when there was opening at a higher level, she did not hesitate giving me higher responsibility. Eventually my commitment to the realization of the objectives of the organization earned me a promotion.
