THEY'LL SURELY GO FAR

THEY’LL SURELY GO FAR

Once they were babies - so beautiful and sweet
The best gifts from above that we’ll ever receive
Into our lives one-by-one they were placed
Only on loan for us to protect and to raise

In the beginning they were so helpless and small
Depending on us for their needs one and all
Days spent feeding and bathing and changing and dressing
Hours spent singing and rocking and soothing and caressing

With a little more time their needs slowly changed
From providers to teachers is what we became
They needed to learn how to walk and talk and read and sing
How to play and share and understand and appreciate all things

They were filled with giggles, smiles and laughs
Also fears and problems and questions that all children have
It became our job later on as they grew
Seeing that their bodies were strong and their spirits and minds were too

We were given gifts from our Father above
Ours forever to treasure and love
We’ll always be close and there for their needs
But their lives are their own - our job is complete

The part that we played in their lives was so small
Compared to their hard work - it was nothing at all
They should be proud of themselves for the work that they’ve done
Be proud of the accomplishments and goals that they’ve won

NOW IS THEIR TIME TO REFLECT ON THEIR PAST
TO LOOK TO THE FUTURE AND CHOOSE A NEW PATH
A PATH TO FOLLOW THAT IS UNIQUELY THEIR OWN
A PATH THAT WILL LEAD THEM TO TREASURES UNKNOWN

USING ALL THAT THEY’VE LEARNED AND ALL THAT THEY ARE
IF THEY BELIEVE IN THEMSELVES - THEY’LL SURELY GO FAR
