Laughter

I am an author of several Poetry Books titled "Poetic Journey", "Journey of Thoughts," and "Journey Within".

Our poetry is written for all ages, especially our youth. Our poems encourage constructive thinking, teach values and lessons, and demonstrate positive reactions to different emotions all in a rhyming fashion. I would like to share the following poem.

Laughter

There’s something about laughter
That makes people feel good
That lifts one’s spirits
That’s sometimes misunderstood

Now many times laughter
Is a result of a nervous reaction
When we’re not sure of what to say
We respond in a nervous fashion

And then there’s the laughter
When we make fun of other folks
When we treat people unkind
When only we get the joke

Yet, often times laughter
Helps to relieve stress
By relaxing our minds
It keeps us from getting too upset

Yes, the best kind of laughter
Will make us feel good
By lifting our hearts
And make us feel as if we could

So go ahead and laugh
But try laughing with and not at someone
And I bet that even laughter
We can learn something from
